New RADIANT™ SC Insecticide from Dow AgroSciences Receives Federal Registration

Broad-spectrum Insect Control in Vegetables Offered Through Powerful New Molecule

Indianapolis, IN - September 28, 2007

Dow AgroSciences announced today that it has received federal label registration of RADIANT™ SC insecticide, a powerful new benchmark for the control of worms, thrips, leafminers and more in vegetable crops.

RADIANT contains an innovative, new active ingredient called spinetoram, which delivers broad-spectrum insect control in fruiting and leafy vegetables, cole crops and cucurbits. RADIANT provides fast knockdown and control of a wide variety of damaging vegetable pests, including loopers, armyworms, thrips, leafminers and diamondback moth.

"We're excited that we're able to bring vegetable growers a new tool to control the toughest insects they face and protect their high-value crops," says Lee Conway, marketing specialist for Dow AgroSciences. "RADIANT also carries many other favorable features for growers, including short re-entry and preharvest intervals and minimal personal protective requirements, as well as low use rates, that make it a convenient, easy-to-use tool for producers."

"The short re-entry interval of RADIANT allows growers to treat insect problems throughout the season without delaying other important tasks," says Tony Weiss, product technology specialist for Dow AgroSciences. "The short preharvest interval provides effective broad-spectrum insect protection as close to harvest as possible to protect the value and marketability of produce."

Registered under the Environmental Protection Agency's Reduced Risk Pesticide Initiative, RADIANT maintains populations of most beneficial insects, including ladybeetles, bees, lacewings and parasitic wasps - without flaring secondary pests - through a targeted Integrated Pest Management (IPM) approach.

Weiss recommends using RADIANT when broad-spectrum insect control is needed and rotating with INTREPID® 2F insecticide when targeting worms. Rotation of insecticides is strongly encouraged to maintain the long-term effectiveness of these valuable insect control tools and manage against resistance.

"RADIANT is the latest innovation in a trusted line of products that Dow AgroSciences has developed, which shows our company's commitment to equipping vegetable growers with the highest level of pest control," Conway says. "We believe RADIANT will set a new benchmark for insect control that other insecticides will be measured against."
